William Drust, MS

Clinical Research Assistant

William Drust is a clinical research assistant at the Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness (CPCE) and PolicyLab at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). His current work with Dr. Jennifer Walter involves improving communication among interdisciplinary health care teams and the families of chronically and/or terminally ill children. Additionally, he works with Dr. Senbagam Virudachalam on Home Plate, an intervention aimed at improving family food preparation practices.

Mr. Drust earned a Master of Science in Science, Technology, and Society from Drexel University. Prior to joining CHOP, he also received extensive graduate training in sociology at Loyola University Chicago. Additionally, his past research involving robotic minimally-invasive surgery resulted in a forthcoming article in Sociological Focus. Mr. Drust’s primary research interests include science and technology studies (STS), medical sociology and qualitative methods.
