Ron Keren, MD, MPH
Ron Keren, MD, MPH is the Associate Director for Implementation Activities at the Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness (CPCE) at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). In this role, he collaborates with CPCE researchers to oversee the development of new tools and techniques for implementing best practices in care settings across the CHOP network.
Dr. Keren also serves as Vice President, Quality and Chief Quality Officer at CHOP, providing executive leadership to quality improvement activities throughout the hospital, and as professor of Pediatrics and Epidemiology at CHOP and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Keren's research focuses on the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of treatments for common problems in general pediatrics, including the prediction and prevention of newborn hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice) and kernicterus (a complication of jaundice), the therapeutic and radiological management of children with urinary tract infections, and the epidemiology and economics of influenza.
