Mary Ellen Vajravelu, MD, MSHP

Core Faculty

Mary Ellen Vajravelu, MD, MSHP is a core faculty member of the Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness (CPCE), a pediatric endocrinologist, and an instructor of pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Dr. Vajravelu received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed residency and fellowship at CHOP.

Dr. Vajravelu's research is focused on pediatric obesity and type 2 diabetes, with particular interests in the use of innovative healthcare delivery strategies such as mobile health (mHealth). Dr. Vajravelu combines her training in epidemiology, biostatistics, and qualitative research with her advanced training in quality improvement and patient safety to study and improve clinical effectiveness of therapies for children with endocrine-related diseases.
