Kevin O'Callaghan, MB BCh


Kevin O’Callaghan, MB BCh BAO LRCP&SI is a Fellow in the Pediatric Hospital Epidemiology and Outcomes Research Training (PHEOT) program managed by the Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness (CPCE) at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is also a fellow in the division of infectious diseases at CHOP and a student in the Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology program at Penn.

Dr. O’Callaghan received his medical education from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and completed internship in internal medicine/surgery at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. He did his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Tufts University/Baystate Medical Center, and then joined CHOP for pediatric infectious diseases fellowship. With undergraduate training in theoretical physics before transferring to medical school, his research interests broadly are in the application of advanced mathematical methods to the investigation of clinical questions. His ultimate goal is to develop mathematical models of agent-based transmission in hospitalized children, in order to prospectively guide infection control policy and procedures.
