Emma Edmondson, MD
Emma Edmondson, MD is a Fellow in the Academic General Pediatrics (AGP) Fellowship program managed by the Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness (CPCE) at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is also a fellow in the division of general pediatrics at CHOP and a student in the Master of Science in Health Policy Research program at Penn.
Dr. Edmondson received a BA in biology from Oberlin College and her MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed combined residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and is committed to providing primary care for patients of all ages.
Before attending medical school, Dr. Edmondson worked as an AmeriCorps volunteer at a non-profit dedicated to fighting childhood hunger, food insecurity, and obesity in Cleveland, Ohio. This experience ultimately inspired her research interests, which include the behavioral economics of food choices, the cultural significance of food and its impact on health, and improving transitions of care for emerging adults with obesity and type 2 diabetes to prevent poor health outcomes and loss to follow-up later in life.
