Calvin Labendia is a clinical research assistant at CPCE, PolicyLab and the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). He works on projects aimed to improve the transition from pediatric and adolescent care to adult care for youth living with HIV.
Previous Calvin was a dermatology medical assistant as well as a senior nursing aide at CHOP’s Medical Behavioral Unit where he supported adolescents and young children. He previously worked as a Drexel co-op in nursing outcomes research, a student researcher with Dr. Joanne Wood’s team involving PriCARE, a program that implements and examines the effectiveness of a parenting intervention aimed to improve children’s behavioral concerns, while reinforcing positive relationship, and a research technician at University of Pennsylvania’s translational core lab. Calvin received his bachelor’s degree in health sciences and a minor in health service administration from Drexel University.
